# Section Table View

Track tasks and break down complex ideas in tables. Add different types of columns and sort your ideas using the table sorting and calculation features.

# Table Columns

The first column in the table view is the section brick. You can add more columns by clicking on the + button at the end of the table.

# Column Types

There are several types of columns you can add such as String, Number, Date or URL. You can also display a brick property in a column such as Due Date, Assigned to or Subtasks.

To change the type of column, click the column options icon next to the column name and select Type.

  • The Mark Complete column type will display a checkbox that's when clicked, it will make the brick complete.
  • If you need to insert clickable links in a column, use the URL column type.

# Rearrange columns and bricks

  • To rearrange a column, simply click and hold the column header to drag it right or left.
  • To rearrange a table brick, click and hold the six dots icon next to the brick to drag it up or down.

# Resize Column

To resize the width of a column, hover over its edge and drag right or left.

# Number Format

In the Number type column, you can display a number format for each row such as % or $. Click the column options icon next to the column name and select Number format.


# Sort Table

You can sort the table bricks by any column in ascending or descending order. Click the column options icon next to the column name and select Sort ascending or Sort descending.

# Column Calculate

You can display calculations at the bottom of each column that will show you information about the data contained in that column.

Click the column options icon next to the column name and select Calculate.

  • Count: Counts the total number of rows in the column.
  • Not empty: Counts the number of rows where the column is filled.

If you have a Number or Date type column in your table, it will unlock more calculation options:

  • Sum: Displays the sum of the numbers in the column.
  • Average: Displays the average of the numbers in the column.
  • Min: Displays the lowest number/date in the column.
  • Max: Displays the highest number/date in the column.

# Color-code Columns

You can highlight a column by changing its background color. Click the column options icon to choose a color.

# Brick Background Color

Each row in the Table view can have a background color matching the brick background color. Click the brick options icon to choose a background color.

# Wrap Cells

If your table cells contain a lot of content, you can have it appear on multiple lines.

Click the section settings icon next to the section name and switch on Wrap Cells.

# Image Preview

The Section Table View can display image preview for image bricks. Click the section settings icon next to the section name to toggle this option.

# Hide table columns

You can hide/show specific table columns. Click the section settings icon next to the section name and switch off/on the column you would like to hide/show.
